The green transition in Serbia represents a key transformation process towards sustainable and environmentally friendly development, aligned with European and global trends in environmental protection. This study is based on the National Report on Mapping the Green Transition in Serbia, developed within the Green Force project (Horizon Europe program), focusing on identifying relevant policies, actors, and initiatives contributing to this process. By addressing the five pillars of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans-decarbonization, circular economy, pollution reduction, rural development, and biodiversity conservation-the study provides an overview of the current status of the green transition in Serbia, highlighting existing challenges and opportunities for improvement. The methodological framework includes both quantitative and qualitative approaches, along with a SWOT analysis to assess the effectiveness of implemented measures and identify areas requiring additional support. The results indicate that decarbonization and circular economy are the primary areas of focus, while pollution reduction and rural development face structural challenges and a lack of adequate support. Based on the findings, recommendations for enhancing Serbia's green transition are proposed, with a particular emphasis on integrating the principles of the European Green Deal into national public policies and strategic documents.
