This article examines the research conducted in sociology and demography by Russian and Vietnamese scholars in recent decades with the support from the Russian Foundation for the Humanities, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, Russian Science Foundation, and Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences. Seven key areas of research were identified, including studies on migration, diaspora, emigration of Russian speakers, and socio-demographic effects of climate change, as well as the main findings of these projects. Achievements in Russian-Vietnamese collaboration in demography and sociology are also discussed, along with key challenges and recommendations for future cooperation in humanities and social science.
