The formulation of the problem in this research was whether the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model based on character education better for increasing the mathematics learning achievement of class XII students at SMA Negeri 3 Baubau? The aim of this research was to determine efforts to increase mathematics learning achievement for class XII students at SMA Negeri 3 Baubau through the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model based on character education.This type of research used quantitative research with experimental methods. The population used in this research was class XII of SMA Negeri 3 Baubau with the total number was 114 students. Technique sampling used in this research was cluster random sampling which meant that every student in that population had the chance to be choosen. The samples in this research were classes XII Ipa 1 and XII Ipa 2 with a total of 65 students. The instrument of this research was a test. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive analysis and inferential analysis.Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it could be concluded that the implementation of the project based learning (PjBL) learning model based on character education is better for increasing the mathematics learning achievement of class XII students at SMA Negeri 3 Baubau. In other words, there was a significant difference in learning achievement between the class that used this method (experimental class) and the class that used conventional methods (control class), with the experimental class having higher learning achievement.
