This heuristic research delves into the narrative of a daughter's journey as she encounters her father's battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Through an in-depth exploration of themes, including the trajectory of the illness, the market–health service nexus, financial strains, and the complexities and practical nuances of geriatric care and end-of-life care, this study uncovers the multifaceted experiences and challenges usually encountered by a family. It examines the uncertainty surrounding the illness, assuming new roles, and the emotional landscape of grief and acceptance. The study reveals how individuals navigate feelings of loss, anger, and sorrow while finding moments of appreciation, resilience, and closure amidst the gradual decline and eventual farewell. It offers insights into the lived experiences of families coping with terminal illness, shedding light on the needs and challenges associated with the care of a dying member and embracing life's fleeting moments.
