2024 is the year of the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the first constitution of the USSR, a state that provided its citizens with unprecedented growth of the national economy, socio-economic indicators and the growth of the cultural potential of all its peoples. It was the Soviet Union that saved Europe, and indeed the whole world, from fascist enslavement. Like any other state, it was founded on certain state-forming principles, which were first formalized in the form of a written constitution adopted after the creation of the Soviet Union in 1922. To analyze the Constitution of the USSR of 1924, an interdisciplinary approach is needed, which will make it possible to make available to the humanitarian thought of mankind the positive aspects of the legal formation of the legal policy of the Soviet Union, which collapsed against the will of its peoples in 1991. The relevance of the work is due to the need to take into account the Soviet and post-Soviet experience of constitutional construction among the peoples of the Russian Federation. The novelty of the work lies in the attempt to analyze the Constitution of the USSR of 1924 in order to identify positive experience for the modern state and legal development of the country. Based on the analysis of primary sources and literature on the topic of the study, the authors consider the problems of the formation of the Basic Law of the USSR, some mechanisms of the functioning of its provisions that determined the daily life of the peoples of the country, its socio-economic potential.
