The aim and significance of this research work is to introduce new materials collected during the Khorezm expedition to study inscriptions on stones in Arabic script. The materials were used for comparative study of epigraphic monuments of Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. This article analyzes materials had been fixed in one of the cemeteries in Khorezm, Uzbekistan. Field work was done by the authors of this article in the Daut-Ata necropolis. This necropolis did not become the object of any complex research before. The necropolis of Daut-Ata was investigated, where 88 epigraphic inscriptions were recorded. The new material have been studied according to various parameters: architectural styles, stone-cutting art, tamgha symbols, Arabic calligraphy, content of inscriptions, vocabulary, social titles in the texts of inscriptions, and others. The authors collected the original texts of stelas from the necropolis through their photo-fixation, translation and scientific commentary. Such research is important not only for specialists in Islamic studies, but it is also interesting for scholars in Slavic studies dealing with various aspects of imperial history and science.
