Application of Javanese Translation Methods to Al Qur’an and Hadits

This research is motivated by the application of the Javanese translation method in the Qur'an and Hadith. This study aims to explore the application of the Javanese translation method at the Al Fattah Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo. The results show that this translation method not only enhances religious understanding but also plays a role in the preservation of local culture. Santri feel closer to the teachings of Islam because they can understand them in their mother tongue, Javanese. This research uses a qualitative method. The results show that the translation of the Qur'an and Hadith into Javanese has a significant impact in improving the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings among the people of East Java. The translation methods applied, including the tarjamah ḥarfiyyah and tarjamah tafsiriyyah approaches, not only facilitate a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings but also support the preservation and development of Javanese language and culture.
