This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of TikTok's provisions and policies, laws and government regulations in protecting individuals from misuse of social media in the digital era. This research uses normative legal analysis, the author examines TikTok's provisions and policies, statutory regulations, government regulations and related academic literature. The research results show that legally it has the potential to provide more effective protection if it is adapted to the dynamics of current digital technology. These findings have important implications in the legal field, by providing new understanding about the need to update and strengthen TikTok's provisions and policies in the context of social media abuse, which can contribute to better protection for individuals in the digital era.
