The relevance of the chosen problem is dictated by the vagueness of the concept of state sovereignty, the risk of its loss in the context of aggravation of international relations, the danger of terrorism, the threat of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the search for new forms of political and legal organization of world society. The factors influencing the transformation of state sovereignty are considered. The methodological basis of the study was historical, logical, comparative legal and systemic methods. Based on a generalization of doctrinal sources, the Constitution of Russia, the annual messages of the President of Russia, and his own worldview, the author concludes that the loss of state sovereignty poses an existential threat to the existence of a national state. It is possible to prevent the collapse of a sovereign state and really protect state sovereignty only by taking systemic measures aimed at ensuring national security.
