Abstract The composite leaf spring is utilized to replace the traditional leaf spring in a truck model to reduce weight and achieve lightweight goals based on load and installation conditions. The design of a glass fiber-reinforced composite leaf spring is carried out through the design of a ply scheme. Then, Ansys finite element software will be used to perform a detailed static analysis. Finally, the sample trial test of the composite leaf spring is carried out, and the results are further compared with the simulation results to verify the validity of the established finite element model and the accuracy of the calculated results. Finally, a composite leaf spring product with superior performance and over 50% weight reduction was achieved.
