The revolution of 1848 allowed the clarification of the national program, which essentially provided for the union of the principalities, the modernization of society and the economy, the affirmation on the international political scene. In the cities of Buzău and Focșanii Munteni, the revolution took place with energy, driven by personalities such as Scarlat Turnavitu, Captain Nicolae Șonțu, Scarlat Voinescu.
