The article aims to provide examples of educational routes in Bulgaria, focusing on the periods of antiquity and the Renaissance. An attempt was made to analyze the potential of cultural heritage and its possibilities for supporting educational tourism. The importance of the historical sites, their importance and their contribution to the cultural identity of the country are emphasized. The prerequisites for future legal and regulatory amendments are discussed, as well as the scientific arguments regarding the terminology that directly affects educational tourism. The text presents in unadorned form two examples of educational tourist routes concerning the above mentioned periods. In this regard, it is attempted to analyze and summarize the good practices related to educational tourism, as well as its importance for the educational process. The motivation is that new generations are finding it increasingly difficult to accept the generally accepted principles of teaching, as the current information flow provides information of all kinds. The methodology mainly involves an interdisciplinary approach that includes historical, legal and cultural analysis based on open information sources.
