This study aims to analyze the use of code switching and code mixing done by teachers in English learning in the classroom. The research method used is qualitative. Data were collected through direct observation of the interaction between teachers and students during the learning process as well as an interview to one of the teachers. The analysis was conducted on the types of code switching and code mixing used and the reasons why teachers used both codes. The findings of this study show that teachers have used all types of code switching and code mixing in accordance with the existing theory. In addition, the reason why teachers use code switching and code mixing is to make students understand the material presented by the teacher. besides that the teacher also wants the learning objectives to be achieved well.
