Research on the Impact of Agricultural Socialization Services on Agricultural Economic Resilience: Evidence from China

Abstract Based on the panel data of 280 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2021, the article uses the entropy value method to construct the index system of agricultural socialization services and agricultural economic resilience. It empirically analyses the impact of agricultural socialization services on agricultural economic resilience and the mechanism of its effect using the spatial Durbin and mediation. It is found that agricultural socialization services have a significant contribution to the enhancement of agricultural economic resilience, and the contribution of agricultural socialization services to agricultural economic resilience has a spatial spillover effect, which is still valid after a series of robustness tests. The impact of agricultural socialization services on agricultural economic resilience has regional heterogeneity, intensity heterogeneity, and dimensional heterogeneity, which is specifically manifested in the more substantial effect of the impact on the central region and the high agricultural economic resilience intensity region, and the better effect of the role of the agricultural economy in restoring the regulatory capacity. Mechanism analysis shows that agricultural industry agglomeration is an essential channel for agricultural socialization services to enhance agricultural economic resilience. Based on the study, countermeasure suggestions are put forward to strengthen the service level of agricultural modernization and improve the quality of agricultural digital services; to enhance the construction of agricultural essential services and improve the level of agricultural socialized services; and to consolidate and enhance the regional industrial clusters to promote the development of agricultural modernization.
