The methodological foundations of the study of the legal concept of the modern democratic regime are considered, the theoretical, legal and political contexts of the analysis of this phenomenon are compared. It is noted that the legal concept of the modern democratic regime reflects the patterns of development of legal existence and is based on the following principles: popular sovereignty, the supremacy of legal law, the legal and legitimate existence of state power, the legal nature of state coercion, the mutual responsibility of the state and the individual, as well as the state and society; development of civil legal consciousness; independence of the judiciary and fair resolution of public law disputes; the state's observance of human rights and freedoms.
