The preservation and development of the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation is enshrined at the legislative level; legislative acts are adopted at the federal, regional and local levels. In Yakutia, in 1992, the law «On languages in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)» was adopted. It spells out the areas of functioning of the state (Russian, Yakut) and local official (Evenki, Even, Yukagir, Dolgan, Chukotka) languages of the region, the responsibilities of legislative and executive authorities, and much more. The proposed work provides an analysis of survey data conducted among the population of the village of Batagai, Verkhoyansk region, under the articles of this law. The questionnaire was compiled by the team of the Department of Stylistics of the Yakut Language and Russian-Yakut Translation in order to identify the level of compliance with the requirements of the articles of the law; the questions were compiled in accordance with the wording of individual articles. The survey was conducted by participants of the Summer Scientific School «Young Researchers of Verkhoyansk», which is held annually by the M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University together with the administration of the municipal formation «Verkhoyansk District». In 2023, the school was held a survey on the basis of the Municipal Budgetary General Educational Institution «Batagaiskaya Secondary General Education School».
