Abstract Occupational safety and health (OSH) issues vary across countries. Correspondingly, the OSH research infrastructure varies across countries, as does research priorities across different topical areas depending on national systems, interests and industrial compositions. Both OSH issues at large and research efforts call for international collaboration. Over the years this has been recognized by the collaboration of OSH research institutions under the auspices of the Sheffield Group and PEROSH. Yet, more can be done. A first step is to map existing OSH research institutions for understanding their respective governance models, research priorities, research outputs, and dissemination efforts. In this presentation, we share the results of a survey of existing national research institutions regarding: (1) foundations (legal mandate, governance, mission statement), (2) input (economic, human, technological capital), (3) activities (research subject matter areas, adjacent services), (4) outputs (research outputs, dissemination outputs), and (5) results documentation. Based on the findings participants will learn about national research institutions in terms of who they are, what they do, what they produce, what they disseminate and how they are held accountable. Five PEROSH / Sheffield institutes will present the following topics: • The Sheffield Group and its role in global OSH research activities • Approaches on mental health in the Netherlands • Accident prevention for and by new technologies • Did managers’ work situation during the COVID-19 pandemic lead to long-lasting relation-oriented leadership? • The Norwegian surveillance system for work environment and occupational health
