Integrating Traditional Chinese Cloud Patterns Into Modern Interior Design: A Visual Symbolism Study

Cloud pattern is a typical representative of traditional Chinese patterns, which contains rich cultural connotation and aesthetic value and is widely used in modern interior design. This paper aims to explore the specific application of cloud pattern in modern interior design and its cultural and aesthetic value as a visual symbol. By analysing the history, cultural background and artistic characteristics of cloud patterns, the paper examines the decorative function, semiotic significance, emotional value and global application of cloud patterns in modern design. It is emphasised that cloud pattern not only retains the essence of traditional culture in modern design, but also satisfies modern people's aesthetic needs and emotional experience through innovative application, and demonstrates its cross-cultural communication power globally. This paper provides modern designers with inspirations and methods for integrating traditional cultural elements, and promotes the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture.
