The article is devoted to the urgent problem of system analysis of the legal environment of the e-commerce market. Legal institutions reflect the nature of the established economic relations, which are formed under the influence of digitalization, which penetrates into all types of forms and directions of human activity. The authors systematize the norms of the current legislation ensuring the functioning of the e-commerce market in Kazakhstan, substantiate the pattern of evolutionary development of branches of law that meet the needs of virtual business. Based on a comparative analysis, the main stages of the formation of the legal environment and directions for improving legislation in the digital sphere are determined. A critical analysis of regulatory legal acts led to the conclusions and recommendations of the authors on the formation of the legal environment of the e-commerce market and the directions of its further development, focused on the implementation of regulatory and incentive functions. Special attention is paid by the authors to the analysis of the practical feasibility of the adopted regulations and the justification of the need to develop by-laws.
