Domestication of cultural studies

According to the author, cultural studies is still barely “domesticated” and clearly shows the features of natural “untamedness”. This is expressed in many of its observable characteristics, and most of all in the extent to which cultural studies is still at the mercy of spontaneous “imposture”. Any researcher whose vocabulary includes the word “culture” boldly proclaims himself a culturologist and demands recognition from the professional community. This is due to the fact that the culturological professional community cannot yet find consensus on a number of issues which are crucial for any science.
