Assessment of drought frequency in the Fayzabad district (Tajikistan) depending on meteorological conditions

The results of the analysis of the manifestation of drought in the Faizabad region based on calculations of the standardized precipitation and evapotranspiration index (SPEI) are presented. It has been established that there is no definite pattern in the occurrence of drought, even for a long period. By comparing the number and duration of droughts in the Fayzabad district with the climatic characteristics of the Fayzabad district, a close dependence of drought on the average annual temperature and precipitation has been established.
