I feel both honored and excited to bring out this edition of Indian Journal of ECMO.As the Journal Coordinator for the Indian Journal of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (IJECMO), my role involves a blend of editorial oversight, content development, and event coordination to enhance the journal's impact and reach within the medical community.The journal, dedicated to the advancement of ECMO knowledge, serves as a vital resource for clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals specializing in this life-saving technology.A key aspect of my responsibilities includes managing the submission process, where I oversee the initial screening of manuscripts to ensure they meet the journal's rigorous standards for originality, relevance, and scientific integrity.This involves liaising with authors, providing constructive feedback, and guiding manuscripts through the peer review process to ensure high-quality publications.This edition highlights a few compelling case reports that detail a complex ECMO procedure on critically ill patients.The case reports vary from ECMO in a post cardiac arrest pediatric patient to the use of a bicaval cannula for ECMO and the novel use of ECMO in patients with tracheobronchial injuries.These case reports not only provide valuable insights into the practical challenges and solutions encountered during the procedure but also highlight the innovative techniques employed by the medical team.Accompanying this report was a comprehensive review articles on the use of ECMO in toxicology and the sedation practices in pediatric ECMO.These reviews synthesized current research findings and clinical practices, offering readers a thorough understanding of the state-of-the-art in ECMO therapy.In addition to our written content, we have introduced interactive elements to engage our readership further.One such initiative is the inclusion of a crossword puzzle focused on ECMO-related terminology and concepts.This educational tool not only serves as a fun and engaging activity for readers but also reinforces key knowledge areas in a memorable way.By integrating this interactive component, we aim to make learning about complex medical topics more accessible and enjoyable.Furthermore, we are proud to announce an upcoming ECMO workshop designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience to healthcare professionals.Participants will have the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field, engage in simulated scenarios, and gain confidence in their ability to manage ECMO patients effectively.I would like to take this opportunity to thank the editors, associate editors, and the reviewers for their hard work and enormous support in bringing this edition to fruition on time.
