Objectives This study confirmed public self-consciousness, evaluation concern perfectionism, and performance anxiety among Chinese college students majoring in choral conducting, and verified the mediating effect of evaluation concern perfectionism in the relationship between public self-consciousness and performance anxiety. Methods Chinese college students majoring in choral and conducting were selected as research subjects and their public self-consciousness, performance anxiety, evaluation concerns, and perfectionism were measured, and the collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 26.0 statistical program. Results Public self-consciousness, evaluation concern, and perfectionism had a significant effect on performance anxiety among Chinese college students majoring in choral conducting, and the mediating effect of evaluation concern, perfectionism in the relationship between public self-consciousness and performance anxiety was confirmed to be statistically significant. Conclusions By confirming the influence of public self-consciousness as a factor affecting the performance anxiety of Chinese choral conducting college students, and by verifying the mediating effect of evaluation concerns and perfectionism in this path, the purpose of lowering the performance anxiety of student conductors and increasing performance satisfaction and quality is It is necessary to prepare support measures.
