Abstract In modern railway systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) play a crucial role, particularly in automatic level crossing systems. This project explores the application of PLCs in enhancing railway safety and efficiency. Three specific projects are investigated: automatic fault detection of railway tracks, an automatic railway gate control system, and a traffic light control system integrated with automatic railway gate crossing. The common thread across these projects is the utilization of PLCs for automation, ensuring precise and reliable operation in railway infrastructure.
