India is world third largest economy and biggest economy of South Asia. Due to its economic status and location every country of South Asia has special relationship with India. Nepal is one such country of South Asia. Historically Nepal has a very cordial relationship with India. India is assisting Nepal in all his odds and even. But recently the relationship between India and Nepal is witnessing some bitterness. Taking advantage of the deteriorating situation of Indo- Nepal relationship, China is expanding its inuence in Nepal, which is the matter of concern for India. This paper is an attempt to nd out the causes of deteriorating relationship between India and Nepal and the increasing inuence of Chinese in Nepal.
