The grass flora of the former Madras Presidency-constituting the present States of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka-is represented by 146 genera, excluding subfamily Bambusoideae. This paper deals with the identification of 63 genera of unawned grasses and supplements an earlier paper on awned grasses (Karthikeyan, 1972).
