The article concludes that the idea of solidarity, which is enshrined in 2020 as a constitutional principle in Article 75.1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, can become a new national idea of the Russian state. In the case when there is a need to consolidate the resources of the state, society and business in a market economy, a national idea can serve as a tool that is used in specific conditions in a specific period of time to solve a socially significant task. The national idea of solidarity can contribute to the flexible adaptation of business expectations to new institutional needs, for example, when carrying out reforms to ensure economic growth, for a short time prompting “belt tightening” for the common good, which directly affects business entities, citizens and society as a whole.
