The industrial metaverse broadly encompasses highly connected enterprises that seek to streamline multi-cloud or multi-source data and harvest the actionable insights it yields. The Digital Twin enables the virtual recreation of product life cycles from design to production so that expensive, critical, activities, like EDA testing, or Design simulation, can be conducted virtually before allocating expensive resources to this in the physical world. This solution is critical to the national dialog on regional chips manufacturing in geographies that are conducive for reasons of cost, technological capability, and last but not the least, aligned in business and national interest. However, the semiconductor production digital twin, and the metaverse it activates, must be differentiated to be of value to a high volume, high yield production environment. Compared to other industries that are more focused on challenges of assembly, quality inspection, and test scenarios for high performance electronics, devices, vehicles, semiconductor production spans a prolonged life cycle, from seed crystal to silicon to device.
