Scholars have often practiced a traditional biographical interpretation of the artist Bob Dylan, in which they have asked for the person behind the songs, but Dylan’s Chronicles (2004) puts the biographical understanding and genre up for discussion. The essay shows how Dylan’s Chronicles is part of his diverse artistic praxis.
