Resource-saving cultivation measures and selection of oilseed crops in modern agriculture

In terms of production of oil crops, Ukraine occupies a leading position in the world, which is based on the cultivation of sunflower and production of sunflower oil. Excessively increased areas under sunflower lead to loss of soil fertility and drying of the soil, etc. Despite the economic interest of commodity producers and the profitability of sunflower cultivation, in our opinion, it is advisable to allocate part of the areas of oil wedge crops to less common, but important and economically attractive crops, such as rapeseed, linseed and others. In the cultivation of all oil crops, we suggest using resource-saving elements of technology. In particular, effective and low-cost methods of soil cultivation, selection of the optimal sowing period, adapted to the conditions of the growing zone of varieties and hybrids of crops, as well as optimizing their nutrition. The latter consists in the application of low (starting) doses of fertilizers, the pre-sowing treatment of seeds and the sowing of plants in the main periods of vegetation with re-regulating substances, biological preparations and trace elements. This will make it possible to significantly increase the resistance of plants to adverse environmental conditions, increase their productivity and contribute to the preservation of soil fertility.
