Blockchain technology enables financial transactions between individuals without the need for intermediaries such as banks. This article explores the impact of blockchain technology on agribusiness and the food chain. It focuses on active initiatives and evaluates their implications, obstacles, and prospects, while keeping a critical eye on project maturity. According to our research, blockchain technology holds the capacity to establish an utterly transparent food supply chain. However, given the present state of the food industry and the difficulties associated with it, there are still a number of restrictions and issues which prevent it before the wide employed by farmers and food-related organizations. These challenges include issues surrounding educational institutions, technology, law, and the system of regulation.
