Introduction Postoperative assessment of cochlear implant (CI) success often relies on word recognition score (WRS), using the subjective Freiburg Monosyllable Test (FBE). A WRS>60% is considered as the minimum threshold for successful rehabilitation. Using FBE can be challenging for certain groups and complicates the evaluation of the CI fitting processor significantly. An objective method for assessing speech perception involves mismatch negativity (MMN). Turgeon et al. (2014) suggests a correlation between speech-induced MMN and speech perception. MMN alone may not effectively differentiate speech perception among CI patients. In this study, an MMN paradigm will be used to classify the speech perception, considering additional information from the EEG.
