Pd63-01 Evaluating the Safety and Effectiveness of Uromune® Bacterial Vaccine Over a 9-Year Period in the Uk: A Study on Managing Recurrent Urinary Tract Infections in Men and Women in the Initial Cohort

The average infection free period was 54.7 months; 56.7 months in women and 44.3 months in men. During the follow-up period, 5 patients died, all due to unrelated causes, namely COVID pneumonitis, Lung cancer, Progressive supranuclear palsy, Pancreatic cancer and old age (89 years). In the remaining 84 patients, no adverse events were reported during the long-term follow-up. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first long-term study on Uromune® and reveals an excellent safety record with minimal long-term adverse events. Furthermore, it underscores Uromune's sustained efficacy, albeit less than the outcomes reported in previous 1 year studies. Uromune® shows great promise as an alternative to conventional treatments for preventing recurrent UTIs. Ongoing investigations are studying its effectiveness in complex UTIs and within neurogenic bladders, in addition to exploring efficacy and safety of a higher dosage regimen.
