Since market relations, which determine the path of development of modern society, as a historical renewal, have changed all socio-social concepts and began to determine the knowledge of individuals trying to find their place in it through competitive competition, medical professional education also began to look in English language teaching from this point of view. To consider the issues of scientific methodology for developing written and oral skills of medical students in English. The article is compiled on the basis of the narrative method, the concepts of “competence” and “knowledge” are defined. Questions have been formulated that require scientific and methodological study regarding the English language. Linguistic, speech-communicative and even sociocultural and personal competencies of medical students are defined for the ability to use them in real life and professional activities; the scientific and methodological foundations of teaching English are currently based on conceptual views aimed at the high-quality implementation of such work.
