The Criminal Characteristics of Illegal Harvesting (Catching) of Aquatic Biological Resources and Potential Ways of Improvement of Countermeasures Adopted by Law Enforcement Authorities

Crime related to illegal extraction (fishing) of aquatic biological resources is a historically volatile social and criminal law negative phenomenon that represents a system of crimes committed in the Russian Federation over a certain period of time. This system of crimes should include not only a number of compounds enshrined in chapter 26 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Environmental crimes”, but also other compounds closely related to the illegal extraction (fishing) of aquatic biological resources.
