The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted farmers' social and economic lives and has been particularly challenging for small vegetable growers. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the production and marketing constraints of 120 vegetable growers in the Malerkotla District of Punjab. Primary data were collected through in-person interviews conducted in six villages, with 20 farmers from each village. The results indicated that most small vegetable growers faced constraints related to marketing. It included a lack of transportation facilities and difficulties selling their produce in the market. The study also analysed the factors influencing the problems faced by farmers during the COVID-19 crisis using Tobit regression. This study recommended better market infrastructure, procurement management, timely market information, and income assurance schemes to support farmers during crisis. Policymakers in the agricultural sector can use these findings to develop appropriate interventions and policies to address the challenges.
