COVID-19 has rapidly spread worldwide and it was ofcially declared to be a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO). In reciprocation to the outbreak, Educational programs among nursing students are necessary, because they act as a health educators in the healthcare system. Objectives 1. To assess the Pretest and post-test knowledge score on COVID-19 and its prevention among BSC Nursing I year students. 2. To evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on COVID-19 and its preventions among BSC Nursing I year students. 3 . To nd out the association between pre-test knowledge score with selected demographic variables among BSC Nursing I year students. Methodology: Pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test design was conducted on sample size of 60 B.SC Nursing I year students using structured knowledge questionnaire to assess the knowledge regarding COVID-19 with their Sociodemographic characteristics. Results: The mean pre-test knowledge score of respondents was 13.85 with mean percentage of 67.6% and the mean post-test knowledge score of respondents was 21.02 with mean percentage of 78.49%.The mean Post-test knowledge score was found to be signicantly higher than mean Pre-test knowledge score at 0.05 level of signicance. Hence structured teaching program found effective. Also revealed that, Pre-test knowledge score had association with selected demographic variable Area of living at P<0.05 level. Conclusion: The study ndings supported the need to conduct effective education and training programme in improving adequate level of knowledge regarding COVID-19 and its prevention.
