The article presents the results of a study of agricultural landscapes in the Amorda River basin, one of the highly developed river basins of the Republic of Mordovia. The assessment of the factors of the development of water erosion was carried out, the main patterns of spatial and temporal propagation of water erosion processes were revealed. Recommendations for optimizing agricultural land use are proposed.
