The author of the article reveals the problem of music creative design as a means of developing the professional competence of future music specialists (based on the material of the courses "Artistic and Stage Culture" and "Methods of Music Education"). Given the need for competitive specialists in society, the author actualizes project activities as a means of preparing them for professional activity. The purpose of the article is the author's reflection on the completed projects of students majoring in speciality 014.13 Secondary Education. Musical Art of the V. Vynnychenko Central State University within the frames of the "Artistic and Stage Culture" and "Methods of Music Upbringing" disciplines. The author emphasizes that the introduction of project activities is more effective among senior students who already have a certain level of theoretical knowledge that needs to be put into practice. Thus, a group project as a form of work was offered to bachelor's students (IV year) in the process of studying the "Methods of Music Upbringing" course to analyze the NUS textbooks in the field of "Art" and fill out a Google spreadsheet, the advantage of which is an open form of editing with the possibility of joint filling and use by all students of the group. The project activity was also carried out by second-year part-time master's students in the "Artistic and Stage Culture" discipline, who prepared projects in the form of a monolecture-concert in which they presented themselves as performers and lecturers in one person. The group project of second-year full-time master's students aimed to stage a musical fairy tale based on E. Karpenko's "Silver Girl" to a libretto by S. Dyachenko, in which the students not only showed their acting skills, performed musical numbers, but also danced and prepared the scenery for the performance. As a result, the author concludes that students' participation in project activities contributes to the development of their independence and creative activity, which is evidence of its effectiveness.
