The Historical Background of the Inheritance Agreement Institution in Russia

The article is devoted to the study of the historical formation of the institute of hereditary contract in Russia. Within the framework of this study, the ancient origin of the hereditary contract has been determined and its subsequent historical development and distribution in the world have been considered. In the article, the author analyzes the hereditary legislation and legal doctrine in different historical periods of our state. In this work, the author reveals the concept and legal nature of the inheritance contract, establishes that the inheritance contract inherently is one of the forms of a will. The author concludes that the inheritance contract is a new step in the regulation of property inheritance relations, has a future in Russia and should be developed as an important institution of inheritance law.
