The Qing Dynasty was a unified multi-ethnic state with a core area of ethnic exchange that emerged in the converging ethnic regions. The development of commerce was one of the main forms of exchange that contributed to its evolution as a frontier of cultural integration.Qing dynasty Mongolia in the south of the desert Guisui area plays this role. The region was home to a large number of ethnic groups that interacted positively through commerce. They assumed different commercial roles, worked together, and interacted with each other in commercial trade. This promoted inter-ethnic exchanges and intermingling, which in turn counteracted the formation and consolidation of the Chinese national community. The interdependence of all ethnic groups, one with the other, has greatly contributed to the social recognition of the concept of the unity of the Chinese nation and to the strengthening of the sense of community within the Chinese nation.
