Over recent decades there has been a greater electrification of both civil and military aircraft, giving rise to the concept of More Electric Aircraft (MEA). In this context, this article presents the study concerning the design of a Single Ended Primary Inductance Converter (SEPIC) in the Bridgeless configuration for Power Factor Correction (PFC) in Electric Power System (EPS) found in MEA. The converter is designed for operation in Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM), therefore, the control strategy and sensing systems are simplified. A prototype has been implemented and fully demonstrated in the laboratory. The obtained results concerning the analysis of the harmonic spectrum of the input current, power factor, and efficiency are presented. Finally, insightful discussions concerning the performance of the system facing variation of the grid power supply frequency are presented.
