Memory functionality in modern computing systems is heavily dependent on speed and power. Operations such as parallel searches are carried out in content addressable memory to improve access times. For high-speed applications, Ternary Content-Addressable Memory, or (TCAM), has gained popularity. We reported the results of our design of a Ternary Content-Addressable memory subsystem using Binary and Ternary CAM, which we proposed in this study for high-speed search and performance. A 45nm 1.2V CMOS simulation demonstrates increased speed and reduced energy consumption, with a minimal number of control signals needed for TCAM.
