Last July, I interviewed cardiac surgeon Jack Pirris, who shared his insights and opinions in a well-received article. Judging from the positive feedback I received, this type of article is valuable and entertaining for ASA members, and so this month we have a "2.0" version. There may be "Beyond 2.0" versions in the future as well, getting the viewpoints of the various proceduralists we work with. March's Expert is Dr. Gregory Kainz, an OB/GYN physician with experience in the military and private sector and currently in academic practice. Dr. Kainz is a man of many talents and currently maintains a busy surgical practice as well as an active obstetric practice.
