Public transport networks are essential for urban mobility because they provide efficient commute alternatives for millions of people worldwide. However, traditional paper-based bus pass systems have long been plagued by issues related to user experience, administrative efficacy, and environmental sustainability. The use of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has proven to be a revolutionary solution to these limitations. This research looks at the RFID-Based Bus Pass System, a cutting-edge approach to RFID technology, Node MCU micro controllers, and PHP web development that is being used in modernist public transportation. Thanks to RFID technology, which allows users to register RFID cards online, preload them with money, and then simply scan the cards at the gate, passengers no longer require physical passes or human fare verification. This research study highlights the revolutionary potential of RFID technology in public transportation by examining the design of the system, its impact on users and transit operations, as well as its scalability and sustainability components. The research emphasizes the role of technology in reinventing urban transit, with the ultimate goal of creating efficient, sustainable, and user-centric transportation systems for the future.
