Statistical Indicators of Sentencing for Rape Committed by a Group of Persons in Russian Legislation

The article analyzes the indicators of sentencing for rape committed by a group of persons in the Russian Federation from 2018 to 2022; the concepts of “rape” and “gang rape” are revealed, their features and differences are considered. The author, considering the materials of judicial statistics, comes to the conclusion that the imposition of punishment for rape committed by a group of persons tends to decrease and their place in the total number of criminal offenses is insignificant.
