The article presents the results of an empirical study of the formation of the skill of handling small arms by the method of ideomotor training. It was found that practical skills in handling small arms in military personnel are formed more efficiently by the method of ideomotor training, which is manifested in an increase in the speed and accuracy of shooting, a decrease in the number of errors and reducing the level of situational anxiety when meeting the standards, unlike military personnel who do not use this method. The use of ideomotor training can increase the level of readiness of military personnel to perform combat missions in any environment.
