The effect of hydrostatic compression on the elastic and electronic properties of (R)-3-quinuclidinol is studied using quantum crystallography methods. The correlations between microscopic changes in the electron density distribution, macroscopic compressibility of hydrogen bonds and piezoelectric response are examined. The elastic anisotropy and the relationship between hydrostatic and electron density compressibility are discussed.
Khainovsky et al. (Sun,) studied this question.
