This bachelor graduation project presents the design and development of a scalable, low-power photovoltaic (PV)-based private charging system for electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV). The project aims to create a sustainable and cost-effective residential charging solution using renewable energy. The system includes solar panel sizing, power management, and the integration of control units compatible with EV/PHEV charging standards. Emphasis was placed on scalability, safety, and affordability, making it suitable for residential or small commercial use. The project reflects the student’s knowledge and practical skills in mechanical and electrical systems, renewable energy, and automotive engineering.
