For decades, there has been a serious problem in the scientific industry in Russia related to attracting personnel to the scientific field and stimulating their work. There is a decrease in the number of scientific staff in the Russian Federation, an increase in the average age of researchers in organizations, and an increased workload due to the high level of overlap. This situation has developed due to a number of objective and subjective reasons. The issue of remuneration of Russian scientists is one of the most important factors, according to the authors, which influenced the current situation. The article examines the issue of the current state of remuneration for researchers. The salaries of researchers in budgetary organizations are low. The measures for the development of the remuneration system for researchers in the budgetary sphere of the Russian Federation are proposed.
